Dear Massachusetts Solar Installer,

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) would like to provide a program update regarding the Commonwealth Solar II rebate program.

Block 19 of the Commonwealth Solar II Rebate program is now closed. The Commonwealth Solar Team is no longer accepting applications for Block 19.

MassCEC plans to open Block 20 of the Commonwealth Solar II Rebate program at 1p.m. on Oct. 7, 2014.

Block 20 will have at least $1.5 million in available funding, and will remain open until all of the funds are reserved or until December 31, 2014, whichever comes sooner.

Please note that the Commonwealth Solar II Rebate Program will sunset after the closure of funding Block 20.

Given the tremendous increase in the size of the solar market in Massachusetts in recent years, the Commonwealth Solar II rebate program has accomplished its purpose of helping to stimulate the creation of a thriving residential solar market in Massachusetts.

There are now over 640 megawatts of solar installed in the Commonwealth, and the Commonwealth Solar II rebate program has already awarded well over 9,000 rebates since it was created in January, 2010. With the SREC II Program in place and with the Department of  Energy Resources (DOER) residential solar loan program anticipated to be in place later this year, MassCEC and DOER feel these programs will provide the needed incentive to the current small-scale solar market moving forward without further need for this rebate program.

Program documents related to Block 20 and any program updates will be made available at shortly before the block opens.

Thank you for your support of solar power in Massachusetts!

Best regards,

The Commonwealth Solar Team
